HILLSBORO, TEXAS— Hill College has named Leigh Ebner as director of development for the college. Ebner started her new position on Aug. 3, 2020.

Ebner brings more than 20 years of community college experience to the position, the past 17 years as the head softball coach at Hill College. She earned an associate degree from Ranger College, where she played softball. Ebner transferred to Northeastern State University in Oklahoma where she finished out her two years of softball eligibility. She earned a bachelor’s in Exercise and Sports Studies from Tarleton State University and also a master’s degree in Physical Education. Ebner is a Grandview resident, along with her husband and two sons.

Ebner has experience leading fundraising programs through athletics starting years ago with team car washes and bake sales, while earning a matched donation from Walmart. She’s held a unique 100-inning game fundraiser, golf tournaments as well as various print and online campaigns. Ebner has been promoting Hill College for the past 17 years to potential students, their families, and the community and feels she can continue her valuable efforts on a larger scale in this new role.

“I have a deep passion for how Hill College seeks to improve the educational experience of our students,” said Ebner, “I want to help find the resources to give all students that chance.”

The development team at Hill College leads fundraising programs to support the academic and physical growth set by the institution. As the director of development, Ebner will oversee efforts to expand the donor base to contribute to the development and enrichment of Hill College. Ebner can be reached by phone at 254.659.7510 or via email at lebner@hillcollege.edu.
